JNan (pronounced JayNon) is a musical prodigy whose roots are in every area of music from rock, jazz, and blues to country. He is truly a musical everyman, and in his own words striving to become a legend not a rapper, and putting real heart back into Hip Hop.
JNAN is the Clear Channel/WGCI 2004 Chicago Idol. His voice has been featured in commercials for several regional businesses and national corporations including Fox Television, KFC, EZ Link Prepaid Wireless, Southside Tattoo, and Collections Clothing to name a few.
JNANs appearances include performances for House of Blues, Hard Rock Café, NAACP, Black College Expo, WGCI Music Seminars, Chicago Theater, Power 92 Remix the Runway and many more. He has opened for Shawnna of DTP, Twista, Chopper (Bad Boy South), The Brat, Do or Die, Crucial Conflict, Ericka Badu, Nina Skyy, Gorilla Zoe, Cash Money and more.
JNAN was a featured Budweiser True Music Artist in the October/November 2005 issue of Complex magazine. He is also a featured artist in several regional and online publications and websites such as Life.com (Life Magazine),TheSource.com, HipHopSocialite.com, URB.com, THURO, Ourstage.com, UrbanGrind.com and UrbanWire.com to name a few. With the release of RapperMan on U.S. Cellulars two lines of smart phones in October 2007 and April 2008 JNan is poised to receive national attention. Internationally JNan can be heard with Londons 2008 breakthrough artist Clarita feat. Baby Sham on her new single Hypnotize.
He has worked with the best of the Chicago music industry, gaining respect, love, and support, and producing highly marketable and entertaining music at a very young age. His demeanor is one of a seasoned and wise veteran of the game. JNAN has completed singles with No ID, Malik Yusef, AK of Do Or Die, Pheave (Feva), Really Doe, GLC, Johnny P. and Rhymefest and is presently in the studio completing singles with Shawwna, Slim Thug, Young Money Artist Jae Millz, Bobby V., and Jon Blu. JNAN has spearheaded the Green Light Movement, a Non-Profit Organization with a mission to facilitate a cohesiveness in the city by networking and utilizing connections and resources to bring the best that Chicago has to offer into the Public eye while providing a professionally run avenue for community and personal development. GLM started as a conversation in a Chicago barber chair between Jnan and Chicago barber Jamique Walker, and has turned into a Chicago city wide mission of change aimed to stem the violence in the inner city and promote the Presidents request for increased Community Service.
